Death Turn

The bend called the Death Bend is located on the Sudecka Road, leading from Szklarska Poręba to Świeradów Zdrój. This place is an amazing vantage point allowing you to admire the wonderful panorama of the Karkonosze and the city. The bend gained its name after numerous car accidents that took place in this place. The most famous event in the history of the bend was an accident in 1945, when several Soviet trucks carrying soldiers fell into the abyss. In the 1960s, however, there was a daredevil who rode a motorcycle along the wall surrounding the bend along its entire length.
